Welcome to our website -----our chapter THE LINCOLNSHIRE LADYBIRDS was founded and registered in April 2006, we currently have 25 members.

The Red Hat Society was formed in California by Ladies over 50 who wanted to do something different to celebrate their Special Birthday ,they based their idea on the poem "WARNING" by Jenny Joseph “ When I am old I shall wear purple etc “.

I came across the society when I visited friends in Nova Scotia who were displaying their red hats and purple outfits at a function I attended , they certainly looked delightful and created a lot of interest.

On my return I decided , with another friend to form a chapter and since then we have grown “ like Topsy “and made many new friends.

Our Aim is just to have fun and be part of THE BIGGEST PLAYGROUP IN THE WORLD .

During the four years, we have had outings etc to Ascot and Market Rasen Races, Dog Races, Theatre Shows, Boat Trips, Meals and Dancing, Walkies and visited many interesting places.

We hold a monthly meeting with a meal, to plan our programme and individual members take responsibility for organising them .

We launched ourselves on the public with a Red Carpet and Press covered evening at the Forest Pine Hotel, Brigg ,and since then we certainly " get noticed " and attract people to ask " who we are and what do we do " when we make an entrance together at any event. .

On 28th May 2010 we had a party for Sally as she was 50 and became an official Red Hatter.
